How long have you been practicing yoga?

He practicado yoga por casi 11 años.

Why is yoga important to you?

How many hours are you certified? What styles?

Tengo aproximadamente 450 horas de certficaciones. Estoy certificada en Hatha yoga, Pranayama, Ying, Chair yoga, Baby & mama yoga, prenatal, rocket yoga, Meditation, sound healing y también estoy certificada cómo Reiki master.

When did you start teaching yoga?

What made you transition into a leadership position?

What makes your classes unique?

What is your personal mission when teaching yoga?

How long have you been practicing yoga?

Yoga saved my life. I tried yoga nearly 15 years ago on a search for alternative ways to deal with my fast-paced lifestyle of back-to-back meetings, daily commutes, and networking events. I was overextended with happy-hours, sorority business and long work hours. The stress led to a series of panic attacks and doctor-prescribed medication. Yoga connected me to my breath and meditation and the panic attacks stopped on their own.

Why is yoga important to you?

My yoga journey is about sharing the holistic experience of connecting breath to movement. I especially enjoy bringing the joy of yoga to underserved and underrepresented populations who may think that it isn’t for them because of body type, cost, or socioeconomic status. Yoga is for everyBODY.

How many hours are you certified? What styles?

I am a 200-hour certified yoga teacher. I teach Vinyasa and Restorative yoga.

When did you start teaching yoga?
I started teaching yoga in 2019.

What made you transition into a leadership position?

As a practitioner, it was challenging locating classes that were led by people of color or with curves. I found this isolating at times when seeking community and representation. I want to change the narrative that you have to look a certain way or have a certain body type to practice yoga. Additionally, everyone should feel seen and connected when in a classroom setting.

What makes your classes unique?
My beginner-friendly classes incorporate a Vinyasa flow with intermediate options. I curate a space for practitioners to explore different forms of stretching, based on their body and comfort level.

What is your personal mission when teaching yoga?
I assist people to unlock their limitless potential through discipline, focus, and self-awareness.

How long have you been practicing yoga?

Since 2010

Why is yoga important to you?

Yoga is everyday life. It is important to me because we can get so caught up in the rat race. We forget to slow down and enjoy the stillness.

How many hours are you certified? Styles?

Two hundred hours RYT Yogaworks

When did you first begin teaching yoga?

Right after high school, at our local gym. They had some classes, and I really enjoyed the breathing techniques.

What made you transition into a leadership position?

Many yrs ago, my grandmother was diagnosed with cancer. She took out her retirement and asked me. “Honey, what do you want to do?” I said I want to teach yoga. She booked the next teacher training, and I spent the next month in Hawaii, learning asanas and Sanskrit.

What makes your classes unique?

There are many types of yogis, the athlete, the engineer, and the mystic. I try to be a combination of all three.

What is your personal mission when teaching yoga?

To focus on alignment rather than depth in your practice

Sub/Float Instructor

How long have you been practicing yoga?
I have been practicing yoga since October 2018.

Why is yoga important to you?
Yoga, most importantly, offers the opportunity to slow down my mind.  My job can be a big stressor and life can get crazy juggling schedules and daily situations with 3 kids. Yoga has been a powerful tool to ground my body into the present moment.  I also love surfing, and yoga has helped me to achieve more strength and flexibility. Lastly, I appreciate that yoga allows me to go inward and also offers a community space to connect with others.

How many hours are you certified?  Styles?
I have a 200 hour teacher certification and I am certified to teach all levels from gentle yoga to a more rigorous Vinyasa flow.

When did you first begin teaching yoga?  I am NEW to teaching yoga, but I have spent the past 25 years as an educator working with kids, adolescents, emerging adults, and professional adults.

What made you transition into a leadership position?
I chose to teach yoga so that I can be a resource in my community offering spaces for individuals to reconnect to healing, balance, and sustained wellness.

What makes your classes unique?
I try to create classes that are consistent with the other classes held at Kula. I guess what makes me unique is that I try to share some special words and teachings that hopefully help students on and off the mat.

What is your personal mission when teaching yoga?
Yoga helps to regulate the central nervous system.  I believe that a regulated central nervous system is one of the most powerful gifts you can offer yourself and the people around you. My personal mission when teaching yoga is to create spaces where individuals can regulate their nervous system, and ultimately reconnect with the power, strength, beauty, and medicine found within.
